Phil & Johanna Thorne

Phil Thorne, founder of Alive Church is dedicated to seeing God’s people united, growing in worship life-style and impacting-culture under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
He, along with Johanna, lead the church, they have two sons, Jono and Ben, as well as fostering teenage young people.
They are passionate about making a difference in people’s lives, in institutions and communities.
Their destiny is wrapped up in Isaiah 58:11-12 and the changing of culture, ‘I will always show you where to go. I’ll give you a full life in the emptiest of places-firm muscles, strong bones. You’ll be like a well-watered garden, a gurgling spring that never runs dry. You’ll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew, rebuild the foundations from out of your past. You’ll be known as those who can fix anything, restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate, make the community livable again.’ Read more

Jono has grown up in the church and has served in many different roles. Jono has a passion and strong skill set for media, production, design and all things technical! Alongside this is a gifting and an anointing for worship and for leading people into the presence of God.
Jon & Sara Plastow

Operations Pastors
Jon and Sara oversee the day to day running of the church. Sara especially enjoys being organised and implementing systems! They both have a passion to see people reach their potential, have a deeper relationship with God as well as with each other in the church family. Sara has been in the church since 1999 and Jon joined in 2011 when they got married. They have a daughter called Ella.
